Chemical Waste Management

Chemical Waste Management

Chemical waste is waste generated by the use of hazardous chemicals (mostly produced by large factories). Chemical waste has the potential to harm the environment and cause health issues. Because of the environmental and health concerns of radiation, as well as the obstacles of safe disposal, regulatory organisations are paying special attention to the disposal and processing of radioactive waste. Chemical waste can be classified as hazardous or non-hazardous. A chemical hazardous waste is a solid, liquid, or gaseous item that has a "Hazardous Characteristic" or is "listed" as a hazardous waste by name. Chemical wastes may have to meet four criteria in order to be classified as hazardous. Ignitability, corrosivity, reactivity, and toxicity are the four characteristics. To be securely handled and managed, this form of hazardous waste must be classified according to its identity, contents, and dangers. Chemical waste is a broad word that refers to a variety of materials.
